SPECIAL INSPECTIONS

In 2002, New York State implemented a revised building code based upon the International Building Code 2000 (IBC 2000).  SJB/Empire’s senior staff was instrumental in assisting the Department of State with the development of a technical bulletin which laid the groundwork for the implementation of this code.  This new code requires adherence to project-specific inspections and testing programs, including seismic design requirements. 

SJB/Empire provides fully trained engineers and technicians to ensure your project meets these stringent codes.  We provide the resources necessary to carry out the required inspections and tests as well as properly document the work and provide a P.E. certification at completion.

Site seismic design information can be gathered through our capability to explore subsurface conditions to depths than of 100 feet.  These findings are then evaluated by our professional geotechnical engineers who in turn recommend necessary design parameters.
